Photos and Talks

Posted by Fernandes, Rui L, October 03

We have included a new area on this web page with PDF files of talks and poster delivered at the conference.

Also, thanks to Miguel Olmos, there is an album with some photos of the workshop (including the official photo) in the website:

If you have some photos that you would like to share, please send them to one of us.

final notes

Posted by Picken, Roger, September 01

Please note that the venue has moved to a different building on campus, room EA1 in the North Tower (Torre Norte). The building is easy to find – it looks like a huge black cube on a pillar - but note there is an identically shaped South Tower! For a map you can consult Location on the webpage.

Those who haven’t yet paid their registration fee (85 euros), please pay at the registration desk, open from 8.30 on Wednesday, preferably in cash. The meeting starts at 9.00 and the schedule is on the page.

In case you haven’t noticed, there is some nice background material on the page about quantum mechanics and quantum gravity (the first link under Programme).

Speakers please note that we have a whiteboard, overhead projector and computer with beamer in the room (hence if your presentation is on a file, you can just bring it along on a pen drive or email it to us). A lapel microphone is available if needed. It would be helpful if you could time your talks to allow a short discussion at the end.

Finally, participants with portables will have wireless access to a conference account on campus.

We look forward to seeing everyone in Lisbon!

accommodation reminder

Posted by Picken, Roger, July 30

If you have not done so already, please reserve your accommodation as quickly as possible, since the conference is taking place during the high season for tourism. To book into one of the hotels, please contact Clara Pacheco of the travel agent CVT who is handling all accommodation issues. You can do this by going to Registration (top right hand corner). After tomorrow, the hotels will accept bookings on a request basis only and places may well fill up quickly.

Deadlines for short talk and poster submissions extended

Posted by Picken, Roger, June 28

We have slightly extended the deadlines for abstract submissions:

Short talks: 1st July; Posters: 15th July, 2007.

The scientific committee will decide about short talk submissions by mid July and

posters shortly afterwards. People whose contributed talks are not accepted may

be asked if they want to present a poster instead.

Financial support

Posted by Picken, Roger, June 25

The organising committee has limited funds available to support some participants,

especially junior participants. Also the RSME is providing a small number of grants

to cover the registration fees of junior Spanish mathematicians. For those interested

in receiving a grant, please apply before July 20th by email (see Contacts)

describing your circumstances and including a CV.
